Award-winning property group’s reporting excellence recognised by leading professional body, underscores commitment to global best practice
Friday, 11 November 2022. Attacq Limited (“Attacq”), the JSE-listed REIT developing Waterfall City was awarded the winner in the small cap category of the 2022 Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa’s (CGISA) Integrated Reporting Awards.
Held in partnership with the JSE Limited, the primary objective of the awards is to encourage innovation and excellence in integrated reporting in Southern Africa across the board, not only in the top JSE-listed companies.
Attacq CEO Jackie van Niekerk says: “The report aimed to present a holistic view of Attacq’s business – including unpacking the group’s strategic objectives and the pathway to achieve them, as part of a broader value creation story. We take our responsibility to stakeholders very seriously and ensure that our integrated report covers the internal and external factors that impact our ability to create sustainable value for these stakeholders.”
“As a purpose-driven organisation, we strive to create sustainable value for all stakeholders in everything we do. Our integrated report presented the opportunity to reflect on the prior 12 months and deliberate on what Attacq stood for as a company and measure our performance against intended outcomes.” adds Van Niekerk.
According to Attacq CFO Raj Nana, the group takes pride in compiling its integrated report annually, this not being the first time it has been recognised for its efforts by winning an award for its reporting excellence.“The theme of the award-winning report was centred on unpacking our improved company culture and capital structure, as well as our focus on new opportunities in support of sustainable growth within our portfolio. This award is testament to the incredible efforts of the Attacq team, concludes Nana.
